Electrochemistry and In Situ Spectroscopy Laboratory

Our lab is dedicated to advancing electrocatalytic materials and processes using operando spectroscopic methods. We specialize in the rational design of next-generation electrode architectures, focusing on metals, oxide-cermets and Mixed Ionic-Electronic Conducting (MIEC) materials. Our group develops deep diagnosic operando methods for studying these electrodes under action. We combine fundamental electrochemical studies with real time Raman Spectroscopy, Mass Spectroscopy (steady state and transient product analysis), optical imaging to study reaction intermediates, degradation mechanisms and identify key reaction descriptors.

Our group carries out fundamental research in the areas of CO2 conversion to fuels and chemicals, green hydrogen production, catalyst development, solid electrolyte design and development.
