Prof. Jemmis superannuated on July 2017 and continues research and teaching as Hon. Professor in the IPC Dept. The superannuation function is celebrated with a symposium entitled "Recent Advances in Chemistry (RAC-2017)" July 2017.
Prof. Jemmis is elected as a member of the international advisory board of IME-BORON,
a triennial international conference on Boron Chemistry, Oct. 2017.
Jemmis went for the ACS National meeting in Aug 2017 and participated in the conference honoring Professor Hoffmann on his 80th Birthday.

An international conference Computational Modeling of Molecules and Materials (CM3-2016) was organized at Nainital in October 2016. Naiwrit and Sagar have been awarded the best poster prize there.

Prof. Martin Karplus, Prof. Michael Levitt and Prof. Arieh Warshel received the Nobel Prize in Chemistry for the year 2013. Dr. Pankaz Sarma was a PDF (2008-2012) with Prof. Arieh Warshel.
Dibyendu defended the thesis successfully on 20th September, 2013 and recently received the First prize of the Eli Lilly Asia Outstanding Thesis Award 2013.
Hari Krishna finished his Ph.D. in the year 2013. He got married recently and joined the group of Prof. Patrick Sit at the City University of Hong Kong as a Post-doctoral fellow.
Susmita received the Inspire Fellowship for Women Scientist. She is doing all this while taking care of the baby along with Param at NIT Calicut.
Prasad has joined as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Chemistry of IIT Kanpur in June, 2013. He finished his Ph. D. in the year 2009 and received the Eli Lilly best thesis award for the same year.
Subhendu Roy has been selected to participate in the 63rd meeting of Nobel Laureates in 2013 in Lindau, Germany. During the meeting he has a rare opportunity to interact with many eminent scientists from around the world. The most memorable one,according to him was to have a face-to-face interaction with Prof. Richard R. Schrock, MIT,(Photo) who was awarded the 2005 Nobel Prize in Chemistry for the development of metathesis methods in organic synthesis.
Jorly has completed his PDF at Emory and University of Virginia and has joined as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Chemistry of MG University, Kottayam in the year 2012.

Bharatam V. Prasad,former member of the group, was awarded the Bronze Medal of the Chemical Research Society of India for the year of 2007. Professor Prasad is at NIPER, Punjab.
Biswarup Pathak has submitted his thesis at University of Hyderabad, on saturday July 21st 2007.
Param has been selected for the Alexander von Humboldt Fellowship. He defended the thesis at University of Hyderabad. Prof Durga Parasad and the Dean along with Prof Tembe conducted the exam.
Pankaz recently visited us from California and presented a Seminar in the Molecular Biophysics Unit of IISc in 2007.
Dr. Narahari Sastry, IICT, Hyderabad, has been selected for the Swarna Jayanti Fellowship of the DST, 2006.
Prof. Jemmis has been given the " The Prof. T. Navaneeth Rao National Best Teacher Award" in Chemistry-2006, instituted by the Andhra Pradesh Academy of Sciences in association with AVRA Research Foundation and IICT.
Prof. Jemmis has been selected for the J.C. Bose National Fellowship, instituted by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), India in 2006.
Anoop defended the thesis successfully (Prof S. R. Gadre was the external examiner) and also obtained an offer from the MPI in Muelheim-Ruhr for a PDF. He got married recently and left for Germany to join with Prof. Wlater Thiel.
Dr. M. M. Balakrishnarajan and Dr. Pancharatna returned from Cornell. They have a baby girl. Balu has a teaching position at the Pondicherry Central University. Pancharatna had gone to Cornell before defending the thesis. We had a thesis defence when the whole family came. Alice baby-sitted during the examination.
Jayasree defended the thesis, got married and the husband and wife team is now at Berkeley.
Dr. Jemmis recieved the Third World Academy Prize in Chemistry for the year 2003 from Third World Academy of Sciences
The Andhra Pradesh Council of Science and Technology presented the AP Scientist Aaward 2003 to Dr. Jemmis on the Science Day, Feb 28 , 2003.
Pancharatna has been selected as one of the participants to represent India in the meeting of Nobel Laureates and Students in Germany (Lindau), this July. Interestingly, Mr. Priyakumar, who is a student of Dr. Narahari Sastry, who in turn obtained PhD from the group, is also a member of this Indian Team.
Pankaz Kumar Sharma came back to UH for PhD viva-voce which was conducted on April 15, 2002. Professor B. L. Tembe, IIT Bombay was the external examiner. Dr Sharma will be getting back to Jerusalem shortly to continue his PDF with Prof Sason Shaik. Even before Ashwini can finish his thesis, the University of Dibrugarh has offered a job to him which he accepted. He has joined the University as a lecturer and promises to get back to finish the thesis during holidays.
