Scientific Collaborations

No science is done in isolation. At IISc, we have a very good support system which includes, departmental facilities, divisional facilities and our own equipment. Our students are ably helped by our supporting staff without whom, it would be difficult to carry out day to day tasks. The quote regarding "standing on the shoulders of giants" is valid for us today!

Our interest in cellular coordination chemistry requires us to interact with others in molecular biology and cell biology. At present we are interacting with Prof. Kumaravel Somasundarm from MCBL, IISc.

We would be happy to interact with those who can complement our skills in the area of synthetic inorganic chemistry and our interest in studying metal complex-protein or metal complex - DNA interactions. In the near future, we hope to use LC-MS-MS and ITC techniques to study the interactions of biomolecules with our metal complexes.

In the past, we have had interactions with Prof. J. Chandrashekar on computational chemistry, Prof. P.K. Das on NLO of inorganic complexes and Dr. Adwankar of ACTREC, Mumbai on cancer research. More recently we have collaborated with Prof. K.L.Sebastian and Prof. E. Arunan on matters of mutual interest.
